ENVIRONMENTAL RESTORATION
The company's first project was to restore
The origin of Atlântica Minas in environmental restoration
In 1998, the project that gave rise to Atlântica Minas was not a deposit. It was degraded land, and a plan to restore it, signed by the architect Gustavo Penna.
Almost three decades later, that order still describes the company's method. Restoration does not arrive at the end of the cycle, as repair. It enters at planning: before assessing an undertaking's operational viability, the company assesses how the area will be protected, controlled and restored over time.
The restoration plan follows every area from permitting onwards, and it is what guides the protection of springs and watercourses, the conservation of native vegetation and the offsetting of whatever cannot be avoided.
Restoration innovations
The techniques and methods applied in each area are defined in the restoration plans of each undertaking and are being consolidated for publication.
