28 YEARS OF HISTORY
Founded in 1998, Atlântica grew out of a degraded-land restoration project signed by the architect Gustavo Penna. The company's first asset was an area to restore, not a deposit to mine.
From there came a reading that is uncommon in the sector: invest in smaller mines with high-grade ore, and integrate the operation vertically instead of growing by volume. Almost three decades later, there are 197 mineral rights across Minas Gerais, Goiás and Bahia, and a portfolio ranging from iron ore to high-purity graphite.

These are not values on a wall. Each pillar answers a real requirement of permitting and of the working face.

Protecting people and carrying out every activity within the defined procedure, from planning to the working face.

Preventing, controlling, mitigating and restoring environmental impacts, and offsetting those that cannot be avoided.

Developing every project in accordance with the law, the licences, the authorisations and the commitments undertaken.

Planning the use of water, soil and vegetation to reduce impact and waste at every working front.

Keeping up dialogue with communities, landowners, public authorities and other stakeholders in every territory.

Reconciling mining activity with environmental protection and with the social characteristics of each region.
The portfolio is the product. Every project states its substance, municipality, ANM phase and licensing status.
More than fifteen mapped substances, organised by the industrial chain they supply.

Input for lithium-ion battery anodes, with fronts in Jequitinhonha, Malacacheta and Ibicaraí.

Grade of 99.88% purity, with potential for the 5N standard required by the silicon industry.

Raw material for steelmaking, present in the Perdões, Barbacena and Barão projects.

Base of the permanent magnets used in electric motors and in high-technology applications.

Direct application in the electronics industry and in the semiconductor chain.

Used as a desulphurising agent and as an alloy in steel production.

Environmental restoration is not the closing chapter of mining here. It was the first project this company ever signed.
The company was born from a restoration project. What was method became legal obligation, and remains method.

Seven fronts defined by study and permit conditions: degraded land, permanent preservation areas and springs, legal reserve, offsets, fauna and flora, water and waste.

Every project advances within the licence it holds, with the commitments made to environmental agencies recorded and monitored.
