About the project

The project sits in the Ibicaraí Complex, in the southeast of the São Francisco Craton. Mineralisation is associated with zones of partial anatexis in gneisses and granulites, following a regional north-south trend. Graphite appears as flakes already visible in the residual sediment, a feature valued internationally because it makes processing easier.

Field exploration has carried out 92 geological reconnaissance trenches and 16 diamond drill holes. Access is via the BR-415 and BR-101 highways, with the Itabuna and Ilhéus airports nearby, inside the graphite hub of southern Bahia, and seaborne shipment is planned through the port of Ilhéus. Technical inspections were accompanied by the municipal government and the regional consortium.
